Rib Fracture Pain
Simple rib fractures are some of the most frequently reported injuries following blunt chest trauma, which accounts for more than half of thoracic injuries from non-penetrating trauma. Approximately one tenth of all patients who have been admitted after blunt chest trauma have one or more rib fractures. Although these fractures are rarely life-threatening in and of themselves, they can be external evidence of more severe visceral injuries inside the abdomen and chest. The pain that results from such injuries can be severe and aggressive pain control measures need to be taken. When rest and medications do not reduce pain, here at Wasatch Pain Solutions we employ minimally invasive procedures that help reduce or eliminate this pain all together.
